So here I am, in the middle way, having had twenty years—
Twenty years largely wasted, the years of l'entre deux guerres
Trying to learn to use words, and every attempt

Raf Simons, you beautiful, beautiful dignified modern lady dresser. The Christian Dior resort 2014 is a dreamy collection of lace details, structured jackets, and tulip shapes. I’m not sure who would find this couture cruise friendly, but I’m not sure that’s a bad thing. If Hitchcock were still around, he’d dress his new blonde icon in Dior (and I’m quite positive the transparent paneling would compliment his decision; I mean that in the creepiest way). I side with Raf on feeling like I have no instinct for lace, and I only care for it when it’s made new. The urgency he creates with asymmetry and fractured lines might be most admirable cheek to jowl with his respect for tradition. Resort is the unsung hero, but I’m not going to pretend like I’m not excited for the spring rtw.
